PArtners In Healthcare has been providing healthcare advocacy, consulting, and staffing for Physician Associates (PA) and other healthcare professionals since 2001. By adding PAs and other providers to healthcare teams the healthcare industry is able to increase patient access to care, decrease wait times for patient appointments and procedures, and reduce cost of care.
WE ARE EXPANDING
PArtners In Healthcare is expanding. We are now developing staffing solutions in almost all medical and surgical specialties. We will be focusing on assignments that are 60 days in duration or longer. Geographically, we will continue to provide PA staffing and advocacy throughout Hawaii and the West Coast, but hope expand to all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and applicable territories.
PAs are medical practitioners who are trained, board certified, and licensed to practice medicine. PAs diagnose illness and injury, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and perform surgical and therapeutic procedures in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team . PAs practice medicine in every state, every medical setting, and in every speciality.
PAs are trained in the medical school model at the graduate level (master degree) and often go on to doctoral level training.
PA medical education is 3-year masters degree (27 months), approximately 14 months in the classroom and 13 months (apx 2,000 hours or more) of medical and surgical clerkships.
The hallmark of PA medical practice is collaborative care. PA are trained to be collaborative healthcare providers; working with collaborating physicians to expand and increase access to care offered at clinics, hospitals, universities, extended care facilities, behavioral health clinics, and retail medical facilities (Minute or rapid-care clinics).
The PA profession was founded by physicians during the Vietnam War; to develop medical providers who could provide expert and immediate care on battlefield. After the war the PA profession was introduced to civilian healthcare, to provide care in rural and underserved areas, expand access to care, and reduce the cost of care.
